Schayden Gorai is an experienced political organizer and communicator with a strong track record in grassroots mobilization, legislative support, and coalition building. Known for his strategic approach and dedication to effective outreach, Schayden has worked at the intersection of policy, community engagement, and party infrastructure. His career has been defined by a commitment to empowering local communities, fostering inclusive leadership, and achieving meaningful political outcomes across Nevada and beyond.
Schayden Gorai’s passion for leadership and civic engagement began in high school, where he served as Student Body President of Kalāheo High School and became a strong voice for student representation and academic excellence. He actively participated in conversations around school policy, student rights, and campus culture during a time of growing debate and change in public education.
Beyond the classroom, Schayden simultaneously served as the Vice-Chair of the Windward District Student Council, overseeing more than a dozen elementary, intermediate, and high schools in the district. As Student Body President, he led the Student Council to national recognition, earning multiple awards from the National Student Council Organization. He was also a Founding Member of the Teach For America Hawaiʻi Student Council, helping to shape student involvement in education reform and serving as a liaison between students and local education leaders. Additionally, Schayden served as a Student Representative to the Hawaiʻi State Student Council, strengthening youth voices in statewide decision-making. These formative experiences sparked his long-standing interest in public policy and opened the door to future roles in education and government.

Building on his leadership in student government, Schayden was selected as a Policy, Innovation, Planning & Evaluation Intern in the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education’s Office of the Superintendent. In this role, he supported strategic initiatives focused on educational policy, program evaluation, and innovation. He conducted research and data analysis to inform statewide planning efforts and contributed to recommendations aimed at improving student outcomes. This hands-on experience gave Schayden early exposure to the policy development process, stakeholder engagement, and inter-agency collaboration—critical tools he would go on to use throughout his career in public service.
Schayden later served as the Official Legislative Aide to House Minority Floor Leader Representative Diamond Garcia in the Hawaiʻi State Legislature. There, he gained critical experience navigating the legislative process: researching and drafting bills, managing communications with stakeholders, and streamlining constituent services. He built relationships with key policy leaders and worked across the aisle to advance legislation aimed at improving outcomes for the people of Hawaiʻi. It was in this fast-paced political environment that Schayden sharpened his skills in policy analysis and legislative advocacy while learning the value of principled leadership and bipartisan collaboration.

Following his move to Nevada, Schayden joined Turning Point Action as the Sierra Field Representative and later oversaw field operations in Southern Nevada. Over two years, he helped register over 1,300 voters, recruited more than 100 new precinct leaders and delegates, and represented the organization at more than 70 events.
Schayden led the organization’s volunteer-driven Voter Assistance Program, helping to engage and mobilize nearly 40,000 low-propensity ballots across the state. His efforts significantly boosted volunteer retention through targeted engagement strategies and strengthened conservative grassroots infrastructure.
In addition to his statewide work, Schayden served as Chair of the Communications Committee for the Washoe County Republican Party, where he supported caucus preparation and helped launch initiatives such as the “Voter ID Petition,” which became a key grassroots campaign for election integrity.
Currently, Schayden serves in two leadership roles central to Nevada’s conservative movement. As Communications Assistant to Assemblywoman Rebecca Edgeworth’s reelection campaign, Schayden manages the campaign’s social media presence, drafts and produces constituent newsletters, and oversees campaign-related communications with supporters, media, and community stakeholders.
He also serves as Political Director for the Cody K Whipple for Congress campaign, overseeing day-to-day operations, messaging strategy, field deployment, and digital outreach. In this role, Schayden is driving efforts to connect with voters, build coalitions, and deliver a strong America First candidate to represent Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.
Beyond these professional roles, Schayden holds several key leadership positions within the Republican Party:
-
Alternate Delegate At-Large to the 2024 Republican National Convention (Trump-endorsed)
-
Secretary, Log Cabin Republicans of Nevada
-
National Committeeman, Nevada Young Republicans
-
Director At-Large, Nevada Republican Club
-
